New or changed business processes are more readily accepted and implemented if the people who are going to use them are involved in the documentation and design process. However, most of your staff will not have access to the Protos tool itself. Protos Excelerator is the solution.
Protos Excelerator allows everyone to lay down the basic process in MS Excel, you may then take the spreadsheet and convert it into a Protos model, within Protos you may then develop and expand the process.
Kick Start your Project
You may install the Protos Excelerator add-in free of charge. Once installed an extra tab is included in the context menu of MS Excel on your desktop. All you need to do is ask your colleagues to fill in the Excel template and send it to you. You then convert the spreadsheet into a Protos model and read it in to Protos.This is an ideal way to kick start the process, the user has had time to think about the process and uses their own terminology. You may then go through the process in detail with your colleague, make changes and expand the model. Not only does this save time but it gives the user an element of ownership and helps acceptance of the process.
